Space X Main Page UI Design: Crafting an Adventure Experience with Immersive Visuals and Patriotism

As a senior UX researcher and professional UI designer, I was hired by Space X to design innovative proposals for the main page of their website, with the DRAGON star rocket as the focal point. For a period of 8 months, I worked in the Brownsville, Texas area, and have since relocated to the Bocachica takeoff area.

The concept was designed with the target audience in mind - individuals aged 40-60 who visit the site the most. Our research showed that these individuals were more interested in experiencing the thrill of a rocket launch, rather than the technical details of the rocket itself. With this in mind, the design was centered around creating an immersive, adventure-filled experience that would appeal to these users and make them feel as though they were part of the launch.

To accomplish this, the main page was designed with captivating images that glorified the rocket and instilled a sense of patriotic pride. The design process started with a series of mockups and went through several iterations before reaching its current form. Originally, the DRAGON rocket was the only aspect of the site that was designed with this immersive experience in mind, but after conducting UX studies, the decision was made to apply the same design principles to the entire website.

Note: the data and information has been corrected with the original data of this year, so that the design proposal can be noticed with the current one.

Make it stand out.

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.
